About this guide

How this guide works

Tavireo describes eighteen hotels in four categories and does nothing else. There is no booking engine here, no price list and no scoring. The pages are written so that one entry can be read against another, and so that a reader can see quickly what a place is, where it stands and what is shared.

How the hotels were chosen

Each category was filled with properties that could be described from published material: an operator's own pages, maps and reporting. Houses were kept in a category when the category described the building rather than a mood. Nothing was included because it was promoted to us, and nothing was left out for the same reason.

Where the information comes from

Entries are written from operators' published pages, from maps and from reporting that names its sources. Where a detail could not be confirmed, the sentence was rewritten so that it stays true without the detail. Winter properties are checked against the operator's current season, because their standing structures change from one year to the next.

What this site does not carry

No prices, no star ratings, no room counts, no reviews and no booking links. No partner arrangements of any kind. The casino section describes hotels and resorts only: the gaming floor is not described, not assessed and not discussed anywhere on this site.

Updates and corrections

Each entry carries the month it was last checked. Buildings change hands, gardens close for work and seasonal cabins are rebuilt, so anything read here should be confirmed with the property before you travel. If something on the site is wrong or out of date, write to us and say which entry it is — see Contact.
